Biography

Marshall Sales is an Austin-based trial lawyer with Hennan Culp. His practice focuses on high-conflict divorce and child custody cases, complex property disputes, jury trials, international child abduction cases, and related family-law appeals.

Marshall earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude with majors in Political Science and History. He earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Texas and before the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.

Coming from a family of lawyers, Marshall grew up believing that being a lawyer also means serving your community. He considers it an honor to use his profession to help others, particularly those most in need of legal assistance. While Marshall enjoys the courtroom and is prepared to try a case when necessary, his goal in family-law matters is to find practical solutions without making an already difficult process any harder than it needs to be.

That commitment to service is reflected throughout Marshall’s involvement in the legal community. He serves as the Access to Justice Representative to the Texas Young Lawyers Association Board of Directors and as a Commissioner and Co-Chair of the Communications and Outreach Committee of the Texas Access to Justice Commission, where he works to help connect more Texans with meaningful access to legal services. He also serves as a board member of the State Bar of Texas Computer & Technology Section.

Marshall has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America since 2021, including in the 2027 edition for Family Law and Family Law: Arbitration and Mediation. He is also a two-time recipient of the Texas Young Lawyers Association President’s Award of Merit.

Outside of practice, Marshall enjoys spending time with his wife, Barb; playing live shows as the guitarist for his band, Blah Spa; paddleboarding on Town Lake; adopting senior dogs; and competing in croquet.
